How do I register for your auctions?

Registration is on SeizedAcquisitions.com is free.  By registering, you agree to the terms and conditions of the auctions, as well as provide us with valid contact information, including name, address, email address and telephone number.  After registration, you will receive a confirmation email and then have access to bid on SeizedAcquisitions.com.

Where do all of these items come from?

U.S. PAS acts as a liquidator for all types of entities.  Merchandise can come from a variety of sources looking to liquidate their merchandise, including law enforcement and government agencies, banks, legal associations, business surplus and close outs, bankruptcies, personal estates, and just about any supplier looking to auction off their inventory.

Are items guaranteed?

We guarantee that the property is free and clear of any liens. Beyond that, we have a limited  guarantees of gem description, watch make, artist hand signature, and autographs. Please see the Terms and Conditions of the auction for more details. Otherwise, all items are sold as is.

Are there any reserves on these items?

U.S. PAS makes use of the auction venue in order to liquidate merchandise.  For this reason, when contracting with a seller, we encourage the seller to place no reserve on the item, in order to enable competitive bidding to determine the fair market value of the item. There are instances where U.S. PAS will allow a reserve, but management must give prior approval based on research of comparable items.  U.S. PAS reserves the right to reject reserves when contracting with suppliers.

Are there any charges, in addition to my winning bid, for which I will be responsible?
Yes. In addition to the winning bid, there is a buyer's premium charge and, if a resident of Maryland, a sales tax charge. A fixed shipping fee is also added to the final bill. The amount of the buyer's premium (if applicable) and the shipping fee are indicated on the listing page where you bid. The amount of sales tax for Maryland residents is 6% of the winning bid. PLEASE KEEP THESE CHARGES IN MIND WHEN BIDDING.

The item I'm interested in indicates that there is a buyer's premium. What is this?

Many auctioneers and auction companies include a buyer's premium on auction purchases. This charge defrays operating costs and helps us to bring quality merchandise to the auction block with little or no reserve. A buyer's premium is a percentage of the winning bid amount that is added to the hammer price. For example, if the buyer's premium is 18% and the winning bid is $100, the customer will have to pay $118 (plus the shipping fee).

I'm looking for something in particular. Is there an easy way to find it on your site?

The way our site is organized, you can look for items by category, which are listed on the left hand side of the page.  In addition, you can make use of our search engine.  Our quick search, which is located in the upper right hand side of each page, searches through the auction titles (short listings) of all items for the criteria you enter.  For example, if you enter 'Picasso' (without quotation marks), it will find all items where Picasso is included in the title.  For a more advanced search, click the link at the bottom of the page, titled 'Help', and then click the 'Search' link.

How do I update my contact information?

As part of the terms and conditions of sale, users are required to maintain contact information (e-mail address, mailing address, and phone number) up-to-date. Updates can be performed by the user by clicking on the 'My Account' tab on the menu bar, logging on, then clicking 'View/Edit Your Personal Information'.

I am not receiving emails from U.S. Property Acquisition Services. Why?
Increasingly, internet service providers are using filters to avoid Spam (unsolicited emails). Sometimes, they accidentally filter e-mail that you want to receive, including emails from us. Many times, we are not notified that the emails didn't get through. To be sure that your emails are not filtered, be sure to add service@seizedacquisitions.com to your contacts list. Emails are usually sent immediately after an action (ex: bid confirmation, outbid). You should receive these emails within 10 minutes of the action. At the conclusion of the auction, the emails confirming the winning bids are sent out within 20 minutes of the close of the auction. This email contains the link to the secure payment page. You should receive the email within an hour. Should you continue to have problems receiving your emails, please contact customer support at 1-888-528-0585.
